Cardiff's Must See

A warm welcome awaits you in Cardiff, the capital of Wales. This is our city with the heart of a big town. Often listed as one the best-liked and friendliest cities in the UK it is also the gateway to explore Wales.

Reach all the places to see and do in the city centre easily by foot, local buses, taxis or bicycle; it’s our fab “15-minute city” ??. Don’t forget to include Cardiff Bay during your visit too; once the biggest coal port in the world and now a redeveloped leisure area with its own waterfront attractions; just a short ride away from the city centre.

We think you’ll need at least two full days to see and do all the attractions including Cardiff Castle, our “Essential Cardiff” walking tour, City Sightseeing Bus Tour, etc – see below. Plus the fabulous shopping district with its unique Victorian Shopping Arcades with tearooms, pubs & restaurants galore and a huge St David’s Shopping Centre.

Do you want to see the best of Cardiff with a tour guide? Try Cardiff Walking Tours.

At Cardiff Bay you’ll see the Wales Millennium Centre, Y Senedd, Red Dragon Centre (cinema, restaurants, casino, tenpin bowling), boat trips and over 50 restaurants, bars and cafes.

My recommendation for a few days in the city
Day 1: Cardiff Castle, city and bay discovery: Start 9am with a visit to Cardiff Castle (for 2hrs) then take the “Essential Cardiff” walking tour (11am from castle front gates). Lunch at Pettigrew tearoom then take the water taxi to the bay.
Day 2: Caerphilly Castle & St Fagan’s Museum of Welsh Life: Take the train from Central Station to the town of Caerphilly. Return to the city then catch a city bus (no.32 or 320) to the village of St Fagan for the famous outdoor museum “Museum of Welsh Life”.
Day 3: Take a guided sightseeing day tour to see the best of Wales! Book an unforgettable day tour with See Wales Tours. These guided minibus tours take you to see the mountains, valleys and coast of Wales with daily departures. >> 9am @ museum, return 530pm.
